Upcoming Bachelor Finale Divides Campus

For many reality TV lovers on campus, Mondays are sacred. All homework is pushed to the side, and entire suites find themselves squished in front of the television - The Bachelor is on. Famously, “Bachelor Monday” has been a revered day of the week. However, there is something undeniably different this season, with discourse surrounding the show's events at an all-time high. Whether analyzing fan-favorite Maria Georgas’ outbursts or speculating on Bachelor Joey Grazadiei’s concerningly jaundiced eyes, it seems like everyone has an opinion.

With the finale airing at 8 pm on Monday, tensions are undeniably high. By the time this article has been printed, the winner will have been selected, but it seems that Bentley students are impossibly divided on which candidate deserves to win.

The two women competing for the final rose are Kelsey Anderson, from New Orleans, and Daisy Kent of Minnesota. Daisy was the original front-runner in the competition but has since fallen out of favor with many fans. One Bentley student argued that Kent is “dull and boring” and “bases too much of her personality on her cochlear implant.” However, other students called her “America’s Sweetheart” and “adorable” when asked their opinions on the candidates.

Kelsey was a bit of a sleeper pick to start; she was given minimal screen time and stayed out of the on-screen drama. In recent weeks, however, she has proven to be one of Joey’s favorites. One Bentley student noted, “The only time Joey’s eyes are not dead is when he looks at Kelsey.” Not everyone is a Kelsey fan, though, with one student expressing that they think she is “unfunny and cringe.”

It will be interesting to see who ends the night holding the final rose, but needless to say, the results will be controversial. However, regardless of who wins, everyone agrees Monday nights will be incredibly dull without The Bachelor.
