The Effects of the Falcone North Elevator Being Out of Service

Disclaimer: This is an entertainment piece and we acknowledge that parts of this article may be dramatic.

As of Wednesday, April 5th, the Falcone North elevator has been out of service. This has been tragic information for many Falcone residents as many commonly utilize this elevator on a daily basis. Thus, it is essential that the elevator is fixed as soon as possible for the well-being of the Bentley residents.

This is not the first time the Falcone elevator has been out of order. In fact, about a week prior, the elevator was not working because one Saturday night too many people entered the elevator at once and because of the over capacity, this caused the elevator to break. For it to break again so soon is concerning.

The elevator being down has affected my schedule and many of my peers. As CJ Surette ‘24 says, “walking from the ground floor to the third floor is the last thing I want to do after a long day of Bentley classes and events.”

Additionally, Banmai Hunyh ‘24, states “everytime I walk into Falcone, I turn the corner and am hit with the “out of order” sign. This instantly ruins my mood and makes me do the dreaded walk of shame to the stairs. Once I get to the top of all 3 flights, any motivation I had to do anything else that day flies straight out the window.” From these two statements, it is evident that the elevator being out of commission has caused a decrease in motivation and overall morale of students.

With this information, the two biggest questions that remain are; How can this be prevented in the future, and will the elevator be functioning again soon?
