When we talk about rivalry games being played down at the Bentley Arena, we usually think of Bentley’s Men’s Ice Hockey team squaring off against fellow D1 Hockey teams. But this past Sunday the arena hosted a game for perhaps an even fiercer rivalry. The tension was palpable as Waltham’s Fire and Police Departments fought for victory in the annual Battle of the Badges. Even the mayor, Jeannette McCarthy showed up to watch! In a shock to all who attended, Waltham Fire destroyed their police counterparts in a 4-0 shutout. In even better news, the game reportedly raised over $9,000 for charity.
