In the Europa League quarterfinal, Arsenal beat Slavia Praha 4-0 after concluding in a draw in the first leg. The Gunners booked their spot in the semifinal with ease and will face Villarreal in the last four.
With the away goal regulation, Arsenal arrived at the Eden Arena knowing that they must score against a Praha team that did not lose a single game for 18 months on their home turf in order to go through. After their first goal was disallowed by VAR, Arteta’s side made up for that disappointment with Nicolas Pepe’s close range finish in the 18th minute. Only three minutes later, Alexandre Lacazette put the Gunners two goals ahead with a penalty. Only three minutes later again, Arsenal was rolling as Bukayo Saka put the third past Slavia Praha. Lacazette put the icing on the cake with 13 minutes to go to seal off the game.
Arsenal will be set up for a reunion with their formal manager Unai Emery and his side Villarreal. The first leg will be on April 29 in Spain, before the second leg at the Emirates on May 6.
