To celebrate Gucci’s 100-year anniversary, the Italian house announced a collaboration with the Kering-owned brand, Balenciaga. The runway of the Aria show is the perfect combination between Alessandro Michele’s maximalism aesthetics and Demna Gvasalia’s haute-streetwear aesthetics.
Earlier in the month, Valentino’s Tuscany factory was destroyed by a devastating fire. The estimated loss was around 38,000 pairs of shoes with a total value of over 1 million euros. This specific factory is crucial for the manufacturing of the famous Rockstud heels. Recently, Prada announced that it will open a part of their factory in the same area to help the Roman house get back on their feet.
Lastly, Bottega Veneta is under fire recently for breaking COVID-19 regulations. According to Berlin outlets, the Italian label staged a secret fashion show at Berlin’s most exclusive club, Berghain. What caused the frenzy were maskless guests partying at the SoHo House after the show was leaked. Videos include Bottega’s creative director Daniel Lee dancing without a mask. It is still unclear whether Bottega Veneta hosted the event and the after-party.
