Are you looking to get involved within the Waltham community? The Community Day Center in Waltham is currently organizing its most extensive fundraising campaign to date. Since 2003, its mission has been dedicated to positively impacting those affected by homelessness in the Metrowest area. Church leaders and community activists merged on the issue to create the only drop-in day center in the area. The center offers a wide array of services to help those in need. It serves as a drop-in shelter where people can come for a meal, pick up their mail, pick up clothing and hygiene items, be seen by a nurse, or just relax.
The center takes its mission a step further through the assistance of its case managers. These managers help guide those who are currently homeless or at risk to seek access to health insurance, apply for the state food program, apply for government housing, find detox and rehabilitation facilities, conduct a job search, and more.
Those at the Community Day Center Waltham genuinely strive to impact the community around them and help the world become a better place. Through their Mission Metrowest challenge, they aim to find sponsors and raise money for those suffering from homelessness. The challenge is fully digital, and they ask for individuals, businesses, schools, and community organizations to go out and get active in any way possible. Engaging in daily activities like walking, running, or cycling for a mile or even dedicating an hour to writing, drawing, or crafting can significantly contribute.
The event is open for registration at no cost through their Facebook page and is set to make a meaningful difference in the community. Are you ready to take on the challenge?
